Darlington EMS was appointed to design and build an electronic hazard warning device for use on home delivery vehicles for a major Supermarket. The purpose of the device was to improve vehicle safety by alerting the driver to potential hazards, for example, door open or step down. The device would prevent the vehicle from being driven away without addressing the hazard first, minimising the risk of accidents.
Darlington EMS was able to use its exceptional inhouse design capabilities and knowledge to design, develop and manufacture an effective warning device..
The project was completed ahead of specified timescales and within budget. The hazard warning device has been hugely successful and is fitted to over 3000 home delivery vehicles, improving fleet safety.
